ABOUT THE TAIKO SCHOOL OF PORTO
Taiko School of Porto is dedicated to sharing and celebrating the art of Japanese taiko drumming and Japanese culture, while also celebrating the more than 480 year partnership between Portugal and Japan. Our school is dedicated to preserving the tradition and spirit of taiko, providing a welcoming space for students to explore the rhythmic and powerful world of taiko drumming. With a focus on discipline, respect, and skill development, we aim to create a supportive and challenging environment for all students. From mastering traditional taiko rhythms to honing performance techniques, we are committed to nurturing confidence and musical skills in each individual.

INSTRUCTOR
With more than twenty years of taiko drumming experience, Jason 'JEIKO' Seymore has dedicated more than half of his life to the art of taiko drumming. Today, his ambitions bring him to the arts & culture hub of Portugal to begin sharing this vibrant performance art with the local Portuguese community. Emphasizing technique, decorum, spiritual and physical health, and a deep sense of community - Jason is ready to foster and grow a thriving community of taiko drummers and Japanese culture enthusiasts in Porto!
